My name is Dana Farrell, and I'm the face behind Tamarack Sporting Enterprises. I'm a 24 year employee of the University of Michigan, where I work as a Senior Project Manager in the information technology field, and also write magazine articles about my favorite pastimes -- sporting clays and hunting. As a frequent contributor to some of the best shotgunning magazines on the market, I am a staff writer for Clay Shooting USA
and Trap Shooting USA
, and have written freelance articles for Sports Afield
, Ruffed Grouse Society Magazine, Cowboy Chronicle (official Single Action Shooting Society publication), Sporting Clays Magazine, American Shooting Journal and several other publications. In addition, my writing resume includes content for the 2014 Rio Ammunition catalog and the 2014 and 2015 CZ-USA firearms catalogs, published by Guns and Ammo magazine.
I'm an avid ruffed grouse, woodcock, turkey and big game hunter and spend much of each autumn hunting Northern Michigan's grouse woods with Woodrow, my American Brittany bird dog. I am also a National Sporting Clays Association (NSCA) Level 1 Instructor.
Traveling frequently around the U.S. to compete and cover shooting events for the magazine industry, I offer my photographs for purchase through this web site. A direct transfer of digital photos can be arranged by emailing me at: Tamaracksporting@comcast.net.
In addition, a selection of my magazine articles can be seen exactly as they looked in print by clicking here
Check back often for updates and please take the time to sign my guestbook and let me know you visited.
Thank you for looking, and good shooting to all.
